Ashburton Community Covid Response Team Help Line
During this time of huge uncertainty, we’d like to let you know that we are working hard to make sure that we do everything we can to support you.
The Town Council, together with local organisations and volunteers, has set up the
Ashburton Community Covid Response Team Helpline
This is the number to call for our free services:
Expanded Food Bank Service
‘Check in and chat’ phone call service for people wanting company
Help, advice and practical support
Whatever your age and even if you are self isolating, you are invited to volunteer with us. Answering or making phone calls from home is a vital role we need help with. We also need help with the food bank, medicine and shopping deliveries.
Please fill out our volunteer form at www.bit.ly/ashburtonvolunteer or contact Karen Turner on 07896 855541 and she will fill in the form with you over the phone.
Please follow all government instructions and guidelines if you are under 70 and have no underlying health conditions:
Only leave home to exercise once a day or for essential supplies of food and medicine.
Make sure you wash your hands for 20 seconds regularly and keep to the 2 metre distancing rule if you have to go out.
This does not apply to the over 70s and with health conditions, who have been told by the government to stay at home.
If we work together and follow the guidelines, we can help keep ourselves, each other and our NHS safe.
Also, if you do not have access to the internet but would like to stay up to date with the latest guidance and information for people in Ashburton, contact Karen on the number above to ask for postal or phone updates.
We have included some advice with this letter. Please read it carefully. If you need any assistance, contact our helpline 01364 255919.
Finally, stay home, protect our NHS and save lives.
