The DON App allows customers to shop local, safely from home
In response to the challenges for Ashburton's independent businesses arising from the Coronavirus crisis, the Ashburton Chamber of Trade has been working with local app developers Leyla and David Nicholls on an exciting project to put Ashburton businesses online!
Businesses can be up and running in a matter of hours.
For Customers
The DON App allows customers to purchase from their favourite local shops from the safety of their home using their mobile phone - which will be a great comfort to those self-isolating at this time.
For Businesses
Getting set up couldn't be simpler - register online to get started. Upload your products to the vendor portal. Then wait for the orders...
The app handles payment and you simply receive an email notifying you of the purchase and the delivery address. There’s no need to worry about delivery either - the fantastic volunteers from the Ashburton Community Covid Response Group are able to collect the orders and deliver them to your customers.
If you are still concerned that this sounds too technical - Leyla and David are on hand to talk you through the process and will even help you to get your first products online and market them!
Benefiting Our Community Now...
During the Coronavirus crisis, the app will help our shops and businesses to carry on trading whilst local customers stay home, stay safe and protect the NHS. It will help to free up the phone for those who need it most and it will save our shopkeepers time by reducing the number of telephone orders.

Once we are able to begin the return to normality, the app will continue to benefit our local shops and businesses by enabling them to offer the same convenient mobile shopping experience as larger national competitors. As the platform develops it will also enable Ashburton businesses to maintain contact with visitors and sell to loyal customers anywhere!
