Ashburton Town Council Response Plan and Advice to Coronavirus19

Ashburton Town Council having due regard to advice from COBRA, Public Health England (PHE), NHS, Devon County Council and Ashburton Surgery, the Council will be implementing the following action plan:-

The Clerk’s Office will be closed to residents for Face to Face visits from Monday. The Clerk and/or Deputy Clerk will be available during normal opening hours via: Telephone 01364 652142, email: townclerk@ashburton.org these contacts may also be used out of hours. This is in line with the revised Ashburton Surgery patients procedures.

The Information Centre will be closed until further notice.

The Council intends to update residents on a regular basis via its and via FaceBook using the Ashburton Devon Group and the AshburtonInfoHub Page. We will also provide information via traditional outlets including the Town Notice Boards outside the Town Hall and at Balland Lane.

Currently the Town Hall is not closed for bookings. Additional regular cleaning as recommended is being carried out. All hirers and visitors should wash their hands on entering the building prior to attending an event, and it is recommended that hands are washed again on returning home. A decision as to whether or not to close the Town Hall will be regularly reviewed.

Should bookings need to be cancelled following government advice, the booking cancellation policy will be suspended.

The Council adheres to the advice that if an individual has symptoms of a cold, flu or C19 they should self-isolate.

Vulnerable and Self-Isolation

The Council is working with organisations in the town to co-ordinate its response to assisting vulnerable residents and residents self-isolating.

The Council is compiling a register of volunteers who are prepared to assist in a number of ways during this period. Please contact any of the above. Volunteers may be asked to undergo DBS checks.
