Established in 1816, Rendells is an independent firm of Chartered Surveyors, Estate Agents, Valuers and Auctioneers who acquired the Ashburton Saleroom in the mid-1970's where each month they conduct two-day sales of between 1,500 and 2,000 Lots of Antiques and Selected items.

A skilled team of Valuers ensures that even obscure and rare items are identified, photographed, catalogued, advertised and then sold to the maximum benefit of the Vendor with the minimum of fuss.

WHAT RENDELLS SELL
We sell antique, period and good quality reproduction Furniture up to the 1930's, Copper, Brass and Miscellanea, Ceramics and Glass, Textiles, Metalwork, Silver Plate, Silver and Jewellery, supplemented by bi-annual specialist sales of Clocks, Watches and Barometers, good Pictures (oil paintings, watercolours and prints), Collector's Sales (dolls, toys, cameras, scientific instruments and sporting items), and other items including Carpets, Garden Statuary, and Motor Vehicles by arrangement. We also hold regular sales of Antiquarian and Second Hand Books.

BUYING AT AUCTION
Why don't you come in and watch a sale? Auctions are free and open market places where you can attend to buy and also enjoy the atmosphere created by the activity generated by those in attendance, and see just how easy it is to bid! Many people attend our auctions, both professionals and private collectors, often seeking one particular item or those wishing to furnish their homes. There is a vast selection to inspect on the two viewing days (Tuesday opening till 7.00 p.m.) when there is an opportunity to select that particular present for that special occasion - be it Christmas, birthday or anniversary. N.B. Please remember that there is a Buyer's Premium of 10% on the hammer price, plus V.A.T. at the current rate.

Rendells' friendly and efficient staff will be happy to explain to anyone who has not purchased at Auction before the simple process of making a bid, either in person or by writing, faxing, or E-mailing a commission bid if you are unable to attend the Auction. In the case of more expensive items we can arrange to accept telephone bids worldwide, subject to written confirmation. Remember, every bidder at an Auction was once a novice! All business transacted is of course, confidential.
